About the role

The HR Generalist supports the growth of MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys in North America, serving as a trusted partner to leaders and employees. The role includes providing HR support, managing employee relations, and fostering a positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a first point of contact for HR inquiries.
  • Provide guidance on company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct investigations and document findings in employee relations matters.
  • Partner with managers on performance management, coaching, and employee development.
  • Coordinate onboarding and orientation activities.
  • Support internal mobility, promotions, transfers, and organizational changes.
  • Conduct exit interviews and identify trends for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Manage HRIS platforms, including system ownership, data integrity, and process optimization.
  • Administer and maintain leave administration processes.
  • Prepare and analyze HR metrics and reports.
  • Support cross-functional HR initiatives and process improvements.
  • Participate in organizational change initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a global, matrixed, or highly regulated organization.
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations, employment law, compliance, onboarding, and leave administration, with experience supporting a multi-state workforce.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret HR data and provide actionable insights.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build credibility across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience administering and maintaining HRIS platforms, including system ownership, data integrity, user support, and process optimization.
  • Experience with ADP and/or SAP SuccessFactors preferred.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, process-driven, and customer-focused.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs while managing competing priorities.
  • SPHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent HR certification preferred.
