Human Resources Generalist

Location: Rochester, NY 14623 – Onsite, permanent full-time position.

Mersen is a global expert in electrical specialties and advanced materials for high-tech industries. With a presence in 32 countries, 50 industrial sites, and 24 R&D centers, Mersen develops custom solutions and supplies key products to meet technological challenges across sectors such as wind power, solar power, electronics, electric vehicles, aeronautics, and space. This role supports daily HR functions in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform new hire onboarding tasks and ensure proper documentation is completed.
• Assist in administering employee benefits, including leave of absences and FMLA.
• Responsible for weekly payroll processing, including employee time and attendance tracking and vacation accruals.
• Manage the recruiting process and facilitate hiring of qualified applicants; collaborate with departmental managers to identify required skills and competencies.
• Administer and execute HR programs, including compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes, investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition, morale, occupational health and safety, and training.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; review policies and practices to ensure compliance.
• Coordinate worksite events such as group meetings, training sessions, and employee activities.
• Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
• Assist in deploying HR action plans and group/regional programs.
• Provide support to the Human Resources Manager as needed.
• Act as backup for basic accounting needs as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in human resources or equivalent work experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with ADP preferred.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Pay

Salary range: $58,000.00 – $75,000.00, depending on experience.
