About the role

The Human Resources Generalist plays a pivotal role in maintaining and developing effective internal procedures, handling employee relations issues, supporting recruiting and retention efforts, and ensuring performance management systems are at peak levels. They represent the department in unemployment processes, provide support and guidance to management, disseminate HR policies, facilitate learning and development programs, and monitor HR metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Represents the department in unemployment processes, including attending TWC Unemployment Hearings.
  • Supports and guides management and staff on complex, specialized, and sensitive issues.
  • Administers DOT random drug testing programs and updates DOT driver credentials and qualifications.
  • Counsels and conducts exit interviews for departing employees.
  • Updates employee information in various systems and processes HR reimbursements.
  • Supports recruiting efforts by participating in interviews and hiring events.
  • Maintains knowledge of HR trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.
  • Executes the Business Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) during disasters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a closely related field.
  • 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, with at least 2 years in Employee Relations.
  • Working knowledge of Title VII, ADA, ADEA, and company programs.
  • Knowledge of human resources information systems.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and insurance.

Benefits

Starting Pay: $60,000 - $75,000

Schedule

Flexible schedule to accommodate business needs, including occasional travel and disaster response.
