About the role

The HR Generalist at Helix Linear Technologies is responsible for day-to-day people operations, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, compliance, and employee experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full recruiting cycle: postings, screening calls, interview coordination, offer letters, and background/drug screen tracking, following Helix's structured hiring process
  • Own the onboarding process and structure, set expectations with hiring managers on their role in onboarding, and hold them accountable for completing their part on time
  • Manage onboarding/offboarding logistics, including I-9 and employment eligibility compliance, exit documentation, and final pay/COBRA processing
  • Maintain the training tracking system and ensure HR practices align with AS9100 quality standards
  • Set training expectations with department leads, and hold managers accountable for ensuring their team's training stays current
  • Coordinate ongoing training updates in Paylocity and through outside partners (e.g., Greater Cleveland Safety Council)
  • Administer annual medical benefit enrollment and open enrollment processes
  • Manage supplemental benefits enrollment (e.g., AFLAC) and track new employee benefit eligibility dates
  • Support employees with benefits questions
  • Administer compliance and safety functions, including participating in Safety Council meetings, supporting OSHA reporting in partnership with the CFO, tracking and coordinating FMLA and leave of absence requests, coordinating workers & compensation claims, maintaining required labor law postings, and supporting employee handbook updates
  • Maintain HRIS records, employee files, and required documentation
  • Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers, answering questions, coaching on people issues, and resolving workplace concerns
  • Coordinate the performance review cycle, scheduling, reminders, and documentation
  • Support compensation administration, including entering approved offers and pay changes

Requirements

3-5+ years in HR generalist or HR operations roles, ideally in manufacturing or industrial environments

Comfortable navigating HRIS and ATS platforms

Experience recruiting: sourcing, screening calls, interview coordination

Working knowledge of employment law and compliance areas such as I-9, FMLA, and workers & compensation

An avid learner who picks up new tools and technology quickly to make processes more efficient

A willingness to take on a range of tasks to get the job done, from compliance documentation to ordering lunch and setting up for a town hall
