About the role
This position partners with functional leaders on a broad range of activities to develop and implement HR solutions that support strategic goals and employee needs. The role serves as a resource to team members, providing reliable direction and counsel on HR-related issues while ensuring consistency and compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop positive relationships with team members at all levels to provide creative HR solutions.
- Build a reputation as a neutral and approachable human resources professional.
- Handle employee relations issues and make recommendations to resolve concerns and improve morale.
- Monitor, audit, and investigate HR-related matters and regulations to ensure compliant resolution.
- Provide individual coaching and advice to managers and employees on company policies, performance management, training, professional development, compensation, benefits, disability, and employee engagement.
- Conduct strategic sourcing through various channels to identify and engage top active and passive talent.
- Develop and revise policies, practices, and procedures as needed.
- Respond promptly to unemployment-related requests and represent the company at unemployment hearings.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and sensitivity regarding all HR-related matters and information.
- Maintain human resource information system (HRIS) records.
- Manage workers’ compensation and general liability claims, ensuring legal obligations are met and facilitating prompt return to work.
- Ensure key HR metrics are maintained and conduct surveys to measure results.
- 20% travel required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience within Human Resources.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Highly motivated, confidential, well-organized, and quality-focused.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of HRIS (ADP) desired.
- Broad understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
- Team-oriented professional who can handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently, identify and solve problems, and meet deadlines with high attention to detail.
- Strong business acumen and ability to influence and develop working relationships at all levels.
