Human Resources Generalist
About the Role
As the HR Generalist (Talent and Development Advisor), your main priority is to ensure a healthy and engaged manufacturing environment. You will provide execution and ongoing support of all Human Resources policies, procedures, and processes, ensuring consistency in all people practices. You will actively work with manufacturing leadership teams and agency partners to maintain optimal staffing levels and support team members.
Schedule
Afternoon shift from 3 pm to 11 pm, Mondays to Fridays.

Responsibilities
- Work closely with manufacturing leaders and team members by maintaining an active presence on the plant floor to drive HR programs, processes, and policies, enhancing working relationships, engagement, and retention.
- Execute and institutionalize all Talent and Development engagement and improvement initiatives.
- Advise manufacturing leaders on employee relations issues, including performance management, attendance management, respectful workplace, and code of conduct.
- Support the progressive discipline process, including investigations, documentation, recommendations, and coaching/issuance of discipline with manufacturing leaders.
- Act as the first point of contact for all hourly team members regarding team member relations questions, concerns, and issues; investigate and respond in a timely manner.
- Oversee recruitment agency partnerships, including communications, onboarding new agency team members, and ensuring day-to-day manpower needs are met.
- Work with manufacturing leaders to create agency action plans for staffing challenges and continuous improvement.
- Maintain and post current job openings; develop relationships to identify sources of qualified applicants.
- Conduct searches for required personnel through direct recruiting, advertising, job fairs, and agency partnerships.
- Recommend methods to improve retention, recruitment strategies, wage and salary plans, and marketing.
- Interview and screen applicants, refer them to appropriate departments, and follow up with both the department and applicant.
- Monitor position control to ensure only approved positions are filled.
- Oversee the onboarding process to ensure a smooth hiring experience for new team members.
- Ensure compliance with the Wage and Salary Program regarding in-hire rates.
- Check references, run background checks, and verify qualifications for all prospective team members.
- Prepare monthly reports detailing personnel requisitions, recruiting activity, cost of advertising, and average time to fill requisitions.
- Conduct post-hire interviews after 90 days of employment and periodically follow up with new team members to assess job satisfaction.
- Conduct exit interviews.
- Adhere to federal and state laws regarding recruitment and employment.
- Maintain confidentiality of all Talent and Development-related information.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with department heads, leaders, and other key personnel.
- Comply with attendance policies, departmental call-in procedures, and maintain professional conduct.
- Exhibit teamwork, willingness to help others, and maintain a positive attitude.
- Support midwest locations and other shifts as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2–3 years of HR experience with a background in benefits administration and/or recruiting.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills; must be able to speak, write, read, and interpret documents in English. Spanish language skills are required.
- Intermediate PC skills, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Expertise with Microsoft Office to collect, compile, and prepare documents, including charts, graphs, or tables.
- Typing speed of 55 WPM with a high degree of accuracy.
