About the role
Duke's is now looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Elgin, IL!
Responsibilities
- Manage all employee offboarding and termination activities
- Assist with benefits administration, including open enrollment and qualifying life events
- Administer employee leaves, including FMLA, STD, LTD, and personal leaves of absence
- Support new hire onboarding processes
- Aid in scheduling and supporting employee drug testing
- Respond to confidential employee inquiries related to benefits, payroll, and workplace issues
- Assist with regulatory inquiries and documentation for DOL, EEOC, and OSHA matters
- Support monthly HR initiatives to increase employee engagement
- Help plan and facilitate annual employee events
- Support secondary support for weekly payroll processing for 500 employees nationwide, including certified payroll reporting and audits
- Prepare reports for management, audits, financial review, and workforce planning
Requirements
- Have an associate's or bachelor’s degree in related field, preferred
- Have at least five years of related work experience, required
- Have excellent customer service experience for both internal and external customers
- Have excellent attention to detail with strong follow-up skills
- Have excellent knowledge of the HR core functions following the employee life cycle from start date up through termination date, required
- Have excellent organization and time management skills
- Have strong oral and written communication skills
- Have strong ability to receive and process information in a professional, sensitive, confidential, and timely manner
- Have strong computer skills including accurate data entry, MS Office (particularly Excel and spreadsheets), UKG Ready, ADP Workforce Now, and/or other HR, ATS, ERP systems
- Be willing and able to work overtime or weekends as necessary
