Human Resources Generalist

About the role
This hybrid, non-exempt role reports to the VP of Human Resources and serves as the primary HR point of contact for both corporate and warehouse teams. You will own end-to-end payroll processing, support warehouse HR initiatives, and provide general HR support across the employee lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Payroll
- Own end-to-end payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery each pay cycle.
- Reconcile timekeeping data prior to payroll submission.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll questions, discrepancies, and corrections.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws across multiple states.
- Partner with Finance/Accounting on payroll-related reporting, journal entries, and audits.
- Maintain payroll records and support year-end processes (W-2s, tax filings, etc.).
- Warehouse HR Partnership
- Serve as the primary HR point of contact for warehouse leadership and employees.
- Provide guidance to supervisors on performance management, attendance policies, and disciplinary actions.
- Support recruitment and onboarding for warehouse roles, including scheduling day-one orientations.
- Partner with VP of HR to investigate and help resolve employee relations issues at the warehouse.
- Support safety and compliance initiatives in partnership with EHS/operations leaders.
- Spend two days a week at the warehouse.
- General HR Support
- Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS and assist with quarterly employee clothing allowances.
- Assist with unemployment claims, worker's comp coordination, and HR inbox management.
- Help drive engagement initiatives and respond to employee questions across the employee lifecycle.
- Assist with other HR projects and initiatives as needed.

Requirements
- 3+ years of HR generalist experience, with direct payroll experience required.
- Experience supporting a warehouse, distribution center, or other hourly/frontline workforce strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of federal and state employment law (FLSA, ACA, FMLA, ADA, etc.).
- Proficiency with Rippling HRIS and payroll system.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build trust across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- PHR/SHRM-CP certification a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Periods sitting at a desk, typing, sketching, and working on a computer.
- Able to lift/move/push/pull objects up to 25 lbs.
- Able to walk, sit, and stand for extended periods of time.
- Able to operate equipment such as computers, copy machines, and phones.
- Must be able to access various areas of a given location.
Pay
$30.00 - $35.00 per hour.
Schedule
Hybrid: 3 days a week in office (split between HQ and Warehouse), 2 days remote. This hybrid model may be rescinded at any time due to business needs.
