About the role
The HR Generalist supports the Ravenswood Human Resources function by providing hands-on support for attendance management, employee relations, manpower processes, information requests, and limited recruitment activity. This role strengthens day-to-day HR execution, ensures timely follow-up on employee and stakeholder needs, and provides consistent support for key HR processes in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end attendance administration, including points administration, Productivity Pilot (attendance software) coordination, attendance tracking, write-ups, issuance of discipline, and follow-up with employees, supervisors, and HR stakeholders.
- Support leave-related attendance processes, including FMLA and short term disability coordination, documentation follow-up, and communication with appropriate stakeholders.
- Prepare, maintain, and distribute attendance reporting for internal and external needs, including tracking attendance KPIs and identifying trends or follow-up actions.
- Participate in attendance-related projects and process improvements, including initiatives such as gate pass elimination and other assigned attendance management improvements.
- Support internal staffing moves (manpower) through the union bidding process and related HR system activity, ensuring information is entered, tracked, and communicated accurately and timely.
- Respond to assigned information requests by gathering relevant documentation, researching facts, coordinating with appropriate HR resources, and ensuring timely completion.
- Support sourcing and recruitment activity for approximately two to three lower-complexity roles at a time, with primary focus on administrative positions.
- Conduct lower-complexity employee relations investigations and disciplines, including intake, fact-finding, documentation, and resolution, while escalating complex matters as appropriate.
- Provide coaching and guidance to stakeholders regarding attendance expectations, process requirements, documentation standards, and follow-up actions.
- Perform other HR Generalist duties as assigned to support departmental priorities and business needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related discipline, required.
- 1 to 3 years experience with attendance management within a points system, preferred.
- 1 to 3 years experience with support of leave-related processes, including FMLA and short term disability, preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee and business information, required.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately track, document, and follow up on HR processes and employee matters, required.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees, supervisors, managers, and HR team members, required.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, required.
- Experience supporting attendance management (particularly in a unionized environment), employee relations, leave administration, or HR compliance processes, strongly preferred.
- Experience using HR systems such as SuccessFactors, Dayforce, Productivity Pilot, LMS, or similar platforms, preferred.
- Working knowledge of employment practices, documentation standards, and HR process compliance, preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to coach stakeholders, resolve routine issues, and escalate complex matters appropriately, preferred.
