Human Resources Generalist
About the role
The Human Generalist supports the University of Louisville, providing HR functions such as recruiting, staffing, hiring, training, development, coaching, incentives, and disciplinary procedures. They also resolve employee relations issues, create and implement HR processes, maintain compliance with employment laws, engage employees, assist with benefits and payroll, lead onboarding programs, and manage union and labor relations.
Responsibilities
- Handle day-to-day HR functions including recruiting, staffing, hiring, training, development, coaching, incentives, and disciplinary procedures.
- Resolve employee relations issues, including hotline calls, investigations, and performance management consulting.
- Create and implement internal HR processes and procedures within ARAMARK guidelines.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations.
- Engage employees through Employee Engagement Initiatives, including developing and advising on motivation and morale programs.
- Support Talent Acquisition by serving as a point of contact for Accelerate to Leadership and Step up to Leadership programs.
- Report and analyze HR metrics.
- Assist with benefits and payroll.
- Lead interns and HR administrative office workers in improving HR processes.
Qualifications
- PHR/SPHR/SHRM certification preferred.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
- Human Resources planning and organizational development experience desired.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Human Resources.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Proven ability to interact, communicate, and consult with multiple levels of management.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to train and make presentations.
- Proven ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
- Experience in union environments strongly preferred.
