About the role
Plan, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the HR department to ensure legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, training, and initiatives to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs.
- Administer human resource programs including benefits and leave, occupational health and safety, and training and development.
- Mediate workplace conflicts, manage disciplinary procedures, and support employee retention and morale.
- Monitor and ensure the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; apply this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.
- 5+ years of human resource management experience with thorough knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and adept with HRIS/talent management systems.
- Strong supervisory, leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
- Proven success in prioritizing, delegating, meeting deadlines, and adapting to organizational and employee needs.
- Excellent verbal/written communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Clean background screen, valid driver’s license, and ability to drive.
