About the role
The Human Resources Director at Oceans Behavioral Hospital Permian Basin is responsible for overseeing traditional HR duties including administrative tasks, recruitment, retention, and employee health support.
Responsibilities
- Interprets hospital policies and regulations to new and existing employees
- Celebrates the hospital's mission of promoting long-term wellness through mental health treatments
- Coordinates the recruitment, interviewing, and placement process
- Manages employee benefits and open enrollments
- Ensures compliance with Joint Commission, Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity, Federal and State regulations
- Manages employee time and attendance records
- Prepares and distributes end-of-pay period reports
- Manages employee performance and competency evaluations
- Responds to unemployment compensation inquiries
- Develops and coordinates programs to improve employee relations
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date personnel files
- Acts as a liaison to coordinate benefit programs
- Manages Workman's Compensation records and claims
- Spearheads engagement and retention strategies
Requirements
- College degree preferred
- 5+ years Human Resources experience required
- 2+ years payroll experience preferred
- 2+ years employee relations experience preferred
- Healthcare experience critical to success
- Proficient in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
- Versatile, flexible, and able to perform in stressful situations
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Able to interact with an array of people in a sensitive manner
- Excellent assertive communication skills
- Able to organize and prioritize high volume workload
- Interacts well with others in a stress-oriented position
- Must be able to function with minimal supervision and complete understanding and respect of confidentiality
- Interprets and adheres to company policy and procedure requirements and ensures compliance in accordance with State and Federal Laws, JCAHO, HCFA and other regulatory boards as required by state and federal laws as well as the mission statement
- Successfully completes CPR certification and an Oceans approved behavioral health de-escalation program
