Duties And Responsibilities
- Aid in the recruitment process, including posting job ads, reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews, and coordinating candidate communication
- Support background checks
- Coordinate new hire onboarding, including preparing welcome materials and organizing orientation sessions
- Manage compensation, benefits, and performance management systems, and safety and recognition programs
- Organize the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring all paperwork is completed and systems access is arranged
- Facilitate orientation sessions to introduce new hires to company policies, culture, and resources
- Coordinate the offboarding process by conducting exit interviews, collecting company property, and deactivating system access
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HR systems and personnel files
- Administer HR forms, including processing promotions, transfers, and terminations
- Ensure compliance with legal and company-specific record-keeping requirements
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and general questions
- Support employee engagement activities and events to foster a positive workplace culture
- Coordinate with benefits providers to resolve employee issues and answer benefit-related questions
- Help maintain and communicate benefit resources and updates to employees
- Aid in payroll processing by ensuring accurate timekeeping records and reporting any discrepancies
- Collaborate with the payroll team to ensure timely and accurate pay for employees
- Affirm compliance with employment laws and regulations, including EEO, FMLA, and OSHA
- Assist in preparing reports for HR metrics, turnover analysis, and compliance audits
- Help manage HR policies and ensure they are communicated and accessible to all employees
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 1-2 years of experience in an HR role
- Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) and basic HR functions
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace
Position Details
- Hybrid work - on site in Great Neck on Mondays and Tuesdays
- Full Time Role - Monday through Friday 9am-5pm
- Salary - $60,000 to $65,000
