Human Resources Coordinator
About the Role
Join a collaborative HR team that supports more than just employees—we support each other. At Quest Food Management Services, our HR team plays a critical role in creating an exceptional employee experience across a growing organization. We're looking for an organized, customer-focused Human Resources Coordinator who enjoys solving problems, supporting others, and keeping HR operations running smoothly. This position is ideal for someone with broad HR experience who enjoys variety. One day you may be assisting with onboarding and I-9 compliance, the next you may be responding to employee questions, processing unemployment claims, conducting HR file audits, or supporting open enrollment. If you enjoy being the go-to resource that keeps everything organized behind the scenes, we'd love to meet you.
As an HR Coordinator, you'll provide administrative and operational support to the Human Resources team while serving as one of the first points of contact for employees across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for the HR shared inbox and HR phone line, answering employee questions or routing inquiries to the appropriate HR team member.
- Support employee onboarding, including completion of Form I-9 and employment eligibility verification.
- Process employee terminations and maintain accurate separation documentation.
- Assist with unemployment claims administration, including gathering documentation and coordinating responses with Quest's third-party administrator.
- Complete employment verifications and respond to routine HR requests.
- Maintain confidential employee files and HR documentation while ensuring compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
- Conduct periodic audits of personnel files, I-9 documentation, onboarding records, and other HR compliance files.
- Support HR projects, including ongoing compliance initiatives and document audits.
- Assist with benefits administration and serve as a resource for routine employee questions regarding benefits, leave, policies, and HR procedures.
- Support annual open enrollment activities and other HR initiatives throughout the year.
- Assist with payroll-related questions and coordinate routine corrections when needed.
- Provide administrative support to the HR team across multiple functional areas.
- Assist with employee engagement activities, recognition events, meetings, and other special projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent HR experience.
- 2+ years of broad Human Resources experience preferred.
- Experience supporting multiple HR functions such as onboarding, employee relations, benefits, compliance, HRIS administration, or payroll.
- Experience maintaining confidential employee information.
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn HRIS and payroll systems.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred.
What Makes Someone Successful in This Role
The successful candidate will be:

- Comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
- A collaborative team player who enjoys supporting others.
- Resourceful and proactive when solving problems.
- Able to communicate with professionalism, empathy, and discretion.
- Committed to providing outstanding customer service to employees at every level of the organization.
