Human Resources Business Partner
This position is located on-site in Hamilton, Washington State.
About the Role
The HR Business Partner works strategically and collaboratively with their operational partners to understand key business issues and needs of the areas they support. They will identify improvement initiatives and carry them out to completion. The HR Business Partner will provide all HR services for their areas, including recruiting, benefits, employee relations, training, policy development, and HRIS maintenance. This role interacts with all areas of the company and requires strong interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Understand the business and align closely with business leaders
- Provide support and guidance to leadership and staff regarding human resources issues, policies, employment-related law, talent management system utilization, and staff development
- Support and advise business leaders with employee relations issues, including conducting and documenting investigations, mediating conflict, and making recommendations for corrective actions
- Partner with leaders during the performance review process to write employee goals, action plans, and provide coaching for improved performance
- Strive for greater efficiency of human resources services through the recommendation of new approaches to established policies, procedures, and programs
- Support the employment lifecycle, including all aspects of recruiting, development, training, investigations, discipline, and termination
- Support the company’s training programs, including creation and facilitation of various training topics
- Support HR Coordinator with tasks such as conducting new hire orientation, establishing and maintaining employee files, and updating content in the Employee Handbook
- Stay current with federal and state laws as well as HR best practices
- Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 7-10 years of progressive experience working in Human Resources
- PHR or SPHR certification preferred
- Knowledge of legal requirements and best practices regarding HR policies and procedures, including Federal, WA, and UT state and local employment law
- Ability to adapt to sudden changes in schedule and consistent interruptions
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to inspire and motivate others
- Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration
- Effective oral and written communication skills in the English language, as well as strong interpersonal skills
- Professional appearance and work ethic
- Ability to work under pressure and in stressful situations
- Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills
- Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues using judgment consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, or government law
- U.S. Citizenship required due to ITAR and EAR regulations (no dual citizenship)
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required); Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed
- Agreement to enter a Continuous Evaluation program for Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements
Pay
Salary range for this role is between $90,000 - $125,000, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, and additional pay for off shifts. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
