About the role
We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner in Nashville to drive our HR programs and people processes. This hands-on role will partner closely with managers, leadership, and external HR resources to move initiatives from planning through implementation. The ideal candidate is a credible, resourceful HR professional who can balance employee support, sound judgment, and detailed administration while continuing to strengthen CSDG’s growing people practices and culture.
Responsibilities
- Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Drive recruiting from position launch through accepted offer, including proactive prospecting, sourcing, screening, interviews, and candidate communication to support an effective candidate journey.
- Partner with managers to define hiring needs, candidate profiles, and effective selection strategies for roles ranging from internship through to senior leadership.
- Build candidate pipelines through LinkedIn Recruiter, referrals, professional networks, schools, and other sourcing channels by partnering effectively with managers and other stakeholders.
- Maintain recruiting metrics and improve candidate flow, hiring decisions, and time to fill.
- Coordinate offers, pre-employment requirements, build and administer onboarding plans, and new-hire follow-up.
- Talent Management
- Manage performance reviews, employee check-ins, talent calibrations, and related communications and documentation.
- Coordinate manager development training alongside our broader CSDG leadership framework that includes technical training and project management training.
- Support career path, succession-planning, and employee-retention initiatives.
- Coordinate engagement surveys and workplace-recognition programs, including Best Places to Work submissions and follow-through.
- Advise and coach employees and managers on effective coaching, performance, and other matters to balance business needs with a fair and thoughtful employee experience.
- Compensation and Benefits
- Serve as a trusted resource and advocate for employees, working with benefit carriers, brokers, payroll, and other partners to resolve questions and issues thoroughly and promptly.
- Own the administration of benefits, open enrollment, qualifying life events, leaves, disability, and time-off tracking for vacation and holidays.
- Support salary administration, pay ranges, market reviews, compensation changes, and related decision-making and documentation.
- Coordinate merit and bonus processes, including planning, communications, system updates, and completion tracking.
- Review compensation and benefits for opportunities to improve employee understanding, administration, and overall program effectiveness.
- People Operations and Employee Experience
- Support CSDG as an exceptional place to work by creating meaningful employee experiences and through clear internal communication.
- Maintain accurate employee records, HR systems, employment documentation, policies, job descriptions, correspondence, and required reporting.
- Translate HR programs and policies into practical guidance, clear processes, and employee-friendly communication that support both business needs and employee experience.
- Coordinate employee changes and separations, including documentation, payroll and benefit notifications, offboarding, and related communication.
- Track and interpret HR metrics related to recruiting, turnover, performance, engagement, and training to identify trends and support leadership decisions.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement practical improvements to HR programs, workflows, tools, and communication as CSDG continues to grow in alignment with our Mission, Vision, and Values.
- Partner with managers to drive stronger engagement and communications.
- Support and implement new people programs and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain process documentation and templates.
- Support additional HR initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field preferred.
- Five or more years of progressive HR generalist, HR manager, people operations, or HR business partner experience in a relevant industry.
- Experience advising leaders across several areas such as talent acquisition, performance management, organizational health, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and people operations.
- Strong judgment, credibility, communication, organization, and follow-through.
- Experience with HR systems, payroll or benefit platforms, applicant-tracking tools, and LinkedIn Recruiter preferred.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
