Position Summary
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) is an entry-level business partner role designed for an experienced HR Generalist or Senior HR Generalist who is ready to expand into a more consultative, business-facing HR position. This role partners with leaders and employees to provide practical HR guidance across employee relations, HR compliance, benefits administration, HRIS support, and key people initiatives. The ideal candidate brings a strong generalist foundation, sound judgment, and a desire to grow in strategic partnership while continuing to deliver hands-on HR support and a seamless employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with leadership to implement HR strategies that support business objectives.
- Employee Relations: Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, conduct investigations, and provide guidance on corrective actions.
- Talent Management: Support succession planning, performance management, and career development programs.
- Workforce Planning: Analyze workforce trends and recommend solutions for staffing, retention, and organizational design.
- Benefits Administration: Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives; serve as primary liaison with benefits vendors and assist employees with inquiries.
- HRIS Management (UKG): Maintain and optimize UKG system functionality, ensure data integrity, run reports, and support payroll and timekeeping processes.
- Policy & Compliance: Enforce HR policies; ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- HR Projects: Collaborate on HR projects such as engagement surveys, engagement programs, and process improvements.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze HR metrics to identify trends and recommend solutions; prepare reports for senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent HR experience may be considered.
- 3–5 years of progressive HR Generalist or Senior HR Generalist experience, with exposure to employee relations, benefits administration, HRIS support, compliance, and HR operations.
- Working knowledge of employment laws, HR policies, and general HR best practices, with the ability to apply guidance appropriately and escalate complex matters when needed.
- Strong communication, follow-through, problem-solving, and employee relations skills.
- Ability to build trust-based relationships with employees, managers, and HR team members while developing consultative HRBP skills.
- Comfortable using HR systems and reporting tools; UKG experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel as needed. If remote, travel to Dallas would be required at least once per quarter.
- Certifications (Preferred): PHR or SHRM-CP preferred; SPHR or SHRM-SCP a plus.
