About the Role

This position involves maintaining databases containing personal or sensitive information to ensure proper protection and accountability. You will analyze and retrieve data from various information sources to answer queries, respond to correspondence, or prepare reports. Additionally, you will provide personnel functions and record maintenance for active duty personnel using military personnel information systems.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate orally and in writing to explain complex actions regarding entitlements, allowances, or collections.
  • Utilize office software programs, electronic mail, and Internet research tools.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level (time-in-grade requirement).
  • Retired military members appointed within 180 days of retirement may be subject to specific provisions.
  • Males born after December 31, 1959, must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes:

  • Advising employees on personnel and/or pay policies, procedures, and requirements.
  • Maintaining administrative records, forms, and files.
  • Entering data in automated systems with the ability to recognize and correct errors or inconsistencies.
  • Utilizing standard office equipment (e.g., scanners, copiers, fax machines) to perform office automation support functions.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
