About the role

This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to staff, faculty, adjunct, and students in support of the University’s Mission, Vision, and Values. The Human Resources Coordinator – Employee Relations & HR Operations supports the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department with primary responsibility for HR operations, employee relations support, compliance administration, training coordination, records management, and benefits support.

Responsibilities

  • Assist employees and supervisors with HR-related questions regarding policies, procedures, benefits, leave administration, and employment practices.
  • Support employee relations matters and assist with documentation, follow-up, and administrative coordination related to investigations and workplace concerns.
  • Assist with performance evaluation processes and employee development initiatives.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality concerning all personnel and departmental matters.
  • Maintain personnel files and proper/legal archival history in accordance with records retention requirements.
  • Conduct periodic audits of personnel files, I-9 documentation, training records, and HR compliance documentation.
  • Maintain employee records and HR databases ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Coordinate HR compliance tracking and reporting initiatives.
  • Assist with development and maintenance of HR procedures, forms, and operational documentation.
  • Maintain HR calendars, tracking systems, and operational workflows.
  • Assist with the administration, maintenance, and communication of University Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate onboarding processes for student employees.
  • Oversee online training platforms by assigning required courses, monitoring completion status, generating compliance reports, and providing follow-up communication to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Assist with office organization and departmental administrative operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in recruitment, onboarding, human resources, or administrative operations preferred
  • Experience in higher education human resources preferred
  • Knowledge of employment practices, onboarding procedures, and recruitment processes preferred
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills required
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems required
  • Experience with ADP, Jenzabar, or similar systems preferred
  • Strong written communication and professional correspondence skills required
  • Ability to work collaboratively with employees at all organizational levels
