Job Summary
Woerner Agribusiness, a family-owned agribusiness company headquartered in Foley, Alabama, is seeking an experienced Human Resources/Payroll Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department, including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Recruits, Interviews, Hires, and Trains Staff
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
HRIS System, Onboarding Duties/Responsibilities
- Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy.
- Supports and guides management and staff on complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues.
- Manages the talent acquisition process, including recruitment, candidate screening, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Biweekly Payroll Processing
- Prepares and processes biweekly payroll for over 100 employees in multiple states.
- Reviews and ensures accuracy of approved timesheets.
- Tracks and deducts all garnishments and other special payroll deductions.
- Processes Worker's Compensation Claims.
- Handles vehicle accident documentation and investigations.
- Administers the electronic timekeeping system.
- Maintains employee records and ensures compliance with E-verify, I9, and H2A program rules.
- Ensures compliance with retention of records policies and procedures.
Employee Benefits Administration
- Serves as a liaison with all insurance companies.
- Oversees company safety, ensuring all employees complete required trainings.
- Handles OSHA 300 Logs.
- Performs centralized purchasing duties for office supplies.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
