Elm Crest Manor is a skilled nursing facility in New Salem, North Dakota, located 30 miles west of Bismarck. We offer 62 beds and 19 assisted living apartments, providing rehabilitation services and around-the-clock skilled care in a comfortable and friendly environment. Responsibilities
- Support the Mission and Philosophy of Elm Crest Manor.
- Ensure an atmosphere that allows for the privacy, dignity, and well-being of all residents and tenants in a safe and secure environment.
- Assure the confidentiality of resident, tenant, employee, and operational data.
- Interact effectively and tactfully with applicants, employees, residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
- Follow policies, procedures, and legal requirements, including:
- Corporate Compliance
- Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA)
- Vulnerable Adult Act
- Anti-Harassment/Sexual Harassment
- Attend all required meetings and in-services mandatory for this position.
- Perform other duties as assigned, with flexibility for work assignments, including occasional evenings, nights, or weekends.
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and precautions; respond to emergency situations promptly and precisely.
- Establish, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures in accordance with regulations and facility goals.
- Administer and coordinate FMLA, medical, and personal leaves in compliance with laws and company policies.
- Manage employee benefit and retirement plan enrollments, including eligibility and coverage changes.
- Process WSI claims management.
- Screen applications, check references, and arrange interviews for prospective employees.
- Conduct employee background checks in accordance with facility policy.
- Handle staff status changes, terminations, onboarding documents, and necessary communications.
- Facilitate orientation and education sessions for new and existing employees.
- Coordinate and host employee engagement and recognition initiatives.
- Maintain employee personnel files.
- Assist with routine safety training programs.
- Create, maintain, and update strategic plans for recruitment, safety, and other initiatives.
- Coordinate and assist with open enrollment and annual ACA reporting.
- Provide primary support for payroll processes and timekeeping procedures.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment regulations regarding wages, overtime, work hours, and workers' compensation.
- Establish a culture of compliance by adhering to all facility policies and procedures.
- Report non-compliance or breaches in confidentiality to appropriate personnel.
- Participate in workplace investigations.
- Maintain current knowledge of EEO and affirmative action guidelines, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Requirements
- Degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred.
- Experience in Human Resources and strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and regulations preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Dependable, reliable, and able to work scheduled shifts.
- Able to perform work assignments with minimal supervision and work independently or in a team environment.
- Must follow proper dress code and wear a name badge at all times.
