About the role
Provide operations management and supervisory staff with support and guidance on employee relation concerns through investigation and assisting with mediation efforts as appropriate to create positive employee relations. Serve as the day-to-day contact for conflict resolution efforts.
- Act as an intermediary between the Regional HR Director and operations.
- Ensure Federal and State Wage and Hour compliance.
- Function as the “hands-on” HR Manager for one or more regions.
- Assist in resolution of employee issues to avoid unionization.
- Work with the Regional HR Director and Director of Labor Relations to develop union avoidance strategies.
- Ensure operations are in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Provide assistance with start-ups and facilitate new hire orientations.
- Ensure the Enterprise system has accurate employee data.
- Ensure ResCare training and compliance standards are met.
- Provide requested information for Federal/State Wage and Hour audits.
- Recruit and post job openings.
- Conduct routine salary surveys for operations.
- Ensure HR training for supervisors.
- Assist supervisors with corrective action and performance improvement plan reviews.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in business management, human resources, psychology, or related field; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least five years of related experience and/or training.
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral; must communicate professionally and positively with employees and all levels of management.
- Required knowledge of federal and state labor laws and regulatory compliance.
- A fundamental understanding of computer processing including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
