Human Resource Coordinator
Job Summary
Lake Huron Medical Center is a 139-bed community hospital providing a wide range of inpatient and outpatient health care services to residents of St. Clair and Sanilac counties. Services include emergency services, primary stroke center, cancer care, surgical services, physical therapy and rehabilitation services, pulmonary rehabilitation, and specialized diabetes programs. The hospital is affiliated with Lake Huron Medical Group, offering patient-centered care through primary and specialty care physician practices.
About the Role
The HR Coordinator supports the HR team by processing new hire paperwork, background checks, coordinating drug screens, and completing the I9/E-Verify. They also handle status changes, term paperwork, promotions, and all other changes, ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained before processing in the HRIS. Additionally, they maintain licensure and certification reports to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and regulatory standards, process evaluations, keep personnel records updated, assist with hospital recognition programs, and provide general HR support.
Responsibilities
- Processes new hire paperwork, background checks, and drug screens
- Captures status changes, term paperwork, and promotions
- Ensures all changes are processed with appropriate approvals in HRIS
- Maintains licensure and certification reports for compliance
- Processes evaluations and updates personnel records
- Affords assistance with hospital recognition programs
- Provides general HR support to employees
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
- 2 years of Human Resources related experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Strong computer and data entry skills
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
