Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated, collaborative, and proactive Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our Human Resources team. Our team has one open role, and we are seeking a mid-level or senior-level candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a trusted business partner to leaders by providing proactive HR consultation, coaching, and guidance aligned with business objectives.
  • Analyzes workforce trends, metrics, and organizational data to identify opportunities and develop practical solutions that support business goals.
  • Supports leaders in resolving employee relations matters and conducts prompt, thorough, and objective workplace investigations.
  • Maintains a strong working knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and Company policies while advising leaders to reduce organizational risk and ensure compliance.
  • Supports drug and alcohol program, including test administration support as needed.
  • Coaches leaders on employee performance, accountability, career development, conflict resolution, corrective action, employee engagement, and talent development.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation while ensuring consistent application of Company policies and practices.
  • Partners with leaders to support organizational change initiatives and assists with change management planning and implementation.
  • Partners with leaders and employees to strengthen working relationships, improve engagement and retention, and lead HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Administers day-to-day HR programs and employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, leaves of absence, separations, HRIS updates, documentation, reporting, and compliance requirements while identifying opportunities to improve processes and service delivery.
  • Supports recruiting activities, onboarding, employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, community outreach events, and new hire orientation as needed.
  • Supports workforce planning, organizational design, staffing strategies, and department restructures to support business needs.
  • Maintains accurate employee information and utilizes HR systems to prepare reports, analyze trends, and support informed business decisions.
  • Aids with audits, compliance activities, reporting requirements, and documentation to ensure adherence to Company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Covers Company housing and other assigned HR programs, ensuring effective administration and a positive employee experience.
  • Maintains confidentiality while handling sensitive employee information and business matters.
  • Complies with all Company policies and procedures, including but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality, and the Company's Code of Conduct.
  • Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications And Skill Requirements

  • Must have 1-3 years' experience in a HR related role, with a focus on resolving employee related issues.
  • Progressively responsible Human Resources experience supporting leaders in employee relations, performance management, investigations, and organizational initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • General understanding of mining, industrial, manufacturing, or other heavy industry environments preferred.
  • Working knowledge of multiple Human Resources disciplines, including employee relations, performance management, compensation, talent development, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and federal and state employment laws.
  • Experience conducting workplace investigations and providing guidance on employee relations matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and influence others.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to use data to support business decisions.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong conflict resolution, coaching, facilitation, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn HRIS, applicant tracking systems, and other business software.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply employment laws, regulations, Company policies, and business practices.
  • Ability to quickly learn the organization's operations, workforce, compensation practices, and business objectives.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
