About the role

The Human Resource Business Partner functions in a strategic business partner role to provide and facilitate HR strategies and services. In this role, you will serve as the primary HR contact to Department Head(s) and Senior Leaders of your assigned business segment, business unit, and operating units on all HR programs. You will regularly provide HR status updates to the HR Management team and interact with all levels of the organization to ensure timely and effective delivery of HR services in support of business initiatives.

The role requires strategic, operational, and project management skills to ensure HR remains an active contributor to the success and goals of your assigned business segment. You will assist on special projects and new program development as needed, leveraging functional experience, flexibility, creativity, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Advisor:
    • Serve as a qualified consultant/advisor in Human Resource practices to business leaders/managers.
    • Provide thought leadership and act as a catalyst for sustained business performance, ensuring HR strategies are translated into concrete actions with tangible results.
    • Act as a “talent agent” to identify, develop, and deploy talent to meet short- and long-term business requirements, including career planning, skill building, and competency modeling.
    • Use data analytics and external/internal insights to design innovative HR solutions based on business needs.
    • Perform talent and organization diagnostics to align with and drive strategy.
    • Implement innovative solutions that deliver high value and impact.
  • Business Coach & Consultant:
    • Build and leverage strong relationships with business leaders to position HR priorities and influence business strategy.
    • Assess and communicate leaders’ blind spots and provide recommendations to overcome barriers.
    • Maintain connectedness to employees and managers to proactively identify areas of conflict, confusion, or barriers to productivity and engagement.
    • Implement action plans and interventions, including coaching, counseling, and mediation.
    • Keep abreast of legislation affecting associate relations and educate managers to minimize risk to the company.
  • Change Agent:
    • Own transformation processes in partnership with business leaders.
    • Utilize data analytics to anticipate change and measure impacts.
    • Identify risks to business strategy delivery and bring forward the right resources to manage them.
    • Manage communications and project plans related to HR program delivery to ensure timely completion.
  • HR / Business Liaison:
    • Identify the need for HR solutions and broker within the HR organization to deliver integrated solutions.
    • Lead complex initiatives with significant impact and innovate on existing programs.
    • Ensure services are delivered according to SLAs (Time/Cost/Value/Quality).
    • Guide associates and managers on processes and guidelines.
    • Proactively leverage HR system data and reporting to maintain high integrity of employee and organizational data.
    • Plan and carry out HR policies and practices in compliance with state and federal law to support regional business plans.
  • Artificial Intelligence:
    • Leverage AI-driven tools to enhance talent acquisition, workforce planning, and employee experience.
    • Apply generative AI solutions (e.g., M365 Copilot, recruiting automation platforms) to streamline sourcing, screening, and communication workflows.
    • Interpret AI-generated insights to support data-driven decision-making in HR strategy, trends, and performance management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Education:
    • High School Diploma/GED required.
    • Bachelor’s and Master’s degree preferred.
    • Some experience may be substituted for education.
    • PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
  • Work Experience:
    • 8+ years of relevant work experience.
    • 1+ years of supervisory/management experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Strong decision-making capabilities with experience interpreting information to make business decisions and recommendations.
    • Extensive experience partnering and using a consultative approach with stakeholders.
    • Creative, entrepreneurial mindset that is solution-oriented.
    • Global and cultural effectiveness.
    • Business acumen—understanding and applying information to contribute to the organization’s strategic business and people plan.
    • Strong interpersonal and highly developed writing skills; acute attention to detail.
    • Ability to facilitate meetings where emotions may be high.
    • Sound judgment and ability to listen, assess problems, and arrive at logical solutions that balance HR practices and business needs.
    • Confident, credible, professional, and well-respected.
    • Capable of managing multiple assignments/tasks concurrently.
    • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a matrix management environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Sit for extended periods (typically 6+ hours per day).
  • Use a computer, including keyboard and mouse, for prolonged periods.
  • Lift and carry light items (e.g., files, office supplies, laptops, typically 20+ pounds).
  • Reach, bend, or stoop occasionally to access files or office materials.
  • Maintain focus and attention for long periods of desk-based work.
  • Follow clear directions.
  • Perform repetitive motions (e.g., typing, clicking) consistently throughout the day.

Pay

Salary range: $79,860.00 - $90,000.00 per year.
