About the role

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD), College of Health and Human Development (HHD), at The Pennsylvania State University, invites applications for a Human Research Technologist - Health and Medicine position at the University Park campus.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and coordinate the project; track project progress and prepare progress reports
  • Coordinate communications across the research team regarding project-related tasks
  • Coordinate recruitment and scheduling of participants
  • Prepare participants for sessions and provide necessary equipment to facilitate testing
  • Perform clinical screening of eligible participants and administer clinical tests as part of the study protocol
  • Develop, review, and submit Institutional Review Board (IRB) documents
  • Facilitate data collection and management
  • Serve as liaison with the University’s Institutional Review Board Office
  • Maintain internal procedures and quality control
  • Aid with team, University, and funding agency project reports
  • Supervise graduate and undergraduate research assistants

Qualifications

  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a collaborative team
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Preferred Qualifications: ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), Experience working on research projects, data organization and analyses, and familiarity with IRB processes and regulatory compliance
