Human Milk Formula Tech
Job Summary
The Human Milk/Formula Technician position is responsible for the preparation, distribution, inventory, and management of Human Milk (HM), Donor Human Milk (DHM) and infant/pediatric formulas. Ensures safe feedings for patients in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
Essential Functions
- Interprets physician and Registered Dietitian orders for feeding.
- Scans all human milk, donor milk and formula additives into EPIC to mix accurate feedings.
- Utilizes electronic medical record and other software programs.
- Cleans mixing tools and work area.
- Maintains stock of supplies and expiration dates.
- Precisely prepares formula and breastmilk mixtures using aseptic techniques in a clean area.
- Considers allergens and prevents cross-contamination.
- Delivers prepared feedings to nursing units.
- Collaborates/communicates with other Human Milk & Formula Techs, Lead Techs, Registered Dietitians, nursing staff, and patients' families.
About the Role
Schedule: Part time, 12 hrs. shifts, Variable days 6- Week Core Schedule, 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Qualifications
- Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Preferred: CRT-ServSafe Handler - NRA National Restaurant Association
- 30 Days Preferred
- 1 year of relevant experience relevant area.
- Associate's degree or equivalent College level courses in Nutrition, Health, or Science related field
