Hulopoe Beach Park Ranger

About the role

Assists with monitoring Hulopoe Beach Park grounds. Responsible for the general maintenance and overall cleanliness and appearance of the Beach Park.

Responsibilities

• Issues camping permits.
• Ensures that campers have the required permits and are abiding by community and private Beach Park regulations, along with any federal, state, and county laws.
• Patrols camp sites, beach areas, trails, and other areas within the Beach Park via foot and/or other means of transportation.
• Maintains and ensures general cleanliness of the Beach Park, including all restroom facilities.
• Monitors the Beach Park and outlying areas for safety.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

• At least 1 to 2 years of experience working in a recreational and/or customer service operation, preferred.
• Requires excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Requires relating to people in a friendly and professional manner.
• Requires working to the established procedures and maintaining reliable work attendance.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, and color vision.
• Must be able to work for sustained periods of time while maintaining concentrated attention to detail.
• Able to think and make effective decisions quickly.
• Ability to create effective working relationships with people.
• Able to work in a noisy environment, in dim lights, and hot/cold temperatures.
