About the Role

The HSSE Specialist assists in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the JLL EHS management systems at Client facilities. In this capacity, the HSSE Specialist works with the site HSSE and Operations Team under the direction of the Account HSSE Director, providing guidance, identifying necessary resources and equipment, and ensuring compliance with EHS regulatory and Client requirements. The role involves advising the JLL management team on EHS issues, evaluating potential hazards, participating in accident investigations, and driving a strong EHS culture.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and support for the development and implementation of EHS management systems and compliance programs at the Client site.
  • Collaborate with the JLL Site Team and Account EHS team to establish and review EHS performance goals and key performance indicators.
  • Track and report EHS metrics, ensuring performance meets or exceeds established goals.
  • Participate in the implementation of EHS Committees tailored to the site’s needs.
  • Evaluate hazards related to JLL’s scope on the client site for safety, health, and environmental risks.
  • Support the implementation of an EHS qualification program to manage JLL service partners working at the client location.
  • Ensure compliance in the management of Hazardous Waste and Dangerous Good shipments, where applicable.
  • Identify training requirements and coordinate sessions for EHS regulatory and Client training needs.
  • Ensure required records are maintained according to regulatory, client, and JLL requirements.
  • Develop, update, implement, and enforce EHS policies and procedures.
  • Assist in accident investigations, including root cause analysis and communication.
  • Support the implementation of tools and training to ensure timely reporting of HSSE incidents and corrective actions.
  • Assist account personnel on projects related to areas of responsibility.
  • Liaise with the client EHS organization to identify and coordinate solutions for EHS problems.
  • Maintain collaborative partnerships with Client EHS, JLL, and vendor employees.
  • Drive programs and initiatives to foster a strong EHS culture, with expertise in managing high-risk work.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience working with EHS compliance and management systems, preferably within facility operations.
  • Experience working with subcontractors/vendors to support mutual safety objectives.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills with word processing and database applications.
  • Ability to inspect both outdoor and indoor areas to observe compliance with established programs.
  • Knowledge and practical familiarity with Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) and Electrical Safety.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, environmental science, or a related subject (preferred).
  • EHS experience in Data Center or maintenance operations is highly desirable.
