Responsibilities
- Provide HSE support to operational teams across drilling, completions, and production activities in compliance with federal, state, and internal company requirements.
- Support the deployment and consistent execution of company HSE programs, including Life Saving Rules and annual safety initiatives, ensuring alignment between corporate leadership and field operations.
- Conduct site inspections, hazard assessments, and behavioral observations; identify improvement opportunities and drive corrective actions to closure.
- Lead and participate in incident investigations using root cause analysis methodologies; oversee reporting, corrective action tracking, and lessons learned communication across the organization.
- Monitor and analyze incident and near-miss trends; present findings and recommendations to field and corporate leadership.
- Develop and deliver safety training, orientations, and toolbox talks for field crews and contractors to strengthen safety culture and field engagement.
- Draft, review, and maintain HSSE procedures and field-level work instructions in alignment with regulatory requirements and OMS standards.
- Support high-risk work activities and permit-to-work processes including JHAs, hot work, confined space entry, and lockout/tagout.
- Coverage of hazards during simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) planning and execution to ensure hazards are identified, communicated, and controlled across overlapping work activities.
- Maintain and update SPCC plans; coordinate spill response, containment, remediation, and regulatory reporting.
- Oversee contractor HSE compliance including pre-qualification, pre-job safety meetings, training verification, and ongoing performance monitoring.
- Coverage of emergency preparedness activities including drills, tabletop exercises, and equipment inspections.
- Support implementation of the Operational Management System (OMS) by aligning field HSE activities with key elements including Risk Assessment, Operational Control, Documentation & Communication, and Assurance & Tracking.
Requirements
- Understanding of Oil and Gas operations
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Ability to work safely and supervise operations in high-risk environments
- Requires 5 plus years of HSE experience encompassing both frontline and back-office responsibilities, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the oil and gas industry
- Experience in developing and monitoring management systems, specifically safety, quality or environmental management systems, preferred
- Capable of working in outdoor conditions
- Exposure to extreme weather conditions
- Physically able to climb stairs, operate valves and pumps and perform maintenance work
- Possesses the physical ability to work extended hours (if needed)
- Current domestic operations are in North Dakota
- Able to drive a company vehicle
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
Qualifications

- Travel up to 25% of the year domestically (1 week per month)
- Must be physically able to lift 25 pounds at a time
