HSES Manager
About the role
This is a key leadership role responsible for driving Health, Safety, Environmental and Security excellence at our Salisbury, NC site. The HSES Manager plays a critical role in ensuring regulatory compliance, fostering a strong safety culture, and supporting sustainable operations across the site.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage site Health, Safety, Environmental and Security (HSES) programs to ensure compliance with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee environmental permitting, reporting, and compliance activities, including air, stormwater, and other regulatory programs.
- Serve as the site safety expert by implementing and continuously improving safety initiatives, incident investigations, emergency response planning, and behavioral safety programs.
- Support Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, acting as champion for incident investigation and emergency planning processes.
- Drive sustainability initiatives and Responsible Care activities while guiding site leadership on HSES policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, community organizations, and emergency response groups, to support site objectives and compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, with chemistry coursework or equivalent technical knowledge.
- Extensive experience in health, safety, and environmental management within a heavy manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Deep knowledge of environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, and reporting requirements.
- Experience developing, implementing, and continuously improving safety management systems and programs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
Qualifications
- Experience in the chemical, pharmaceutical, or other process manufacturing industries.
- Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) programs.
- Knowledge of Responsible Care, OSHA regulations, emergency response planning, and sustainability initiatives.

Schedule
The role is on a full-time basis, reporting to the Site Director and based in Salisbury, NC.
