HSE Specialist

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and monitors programs to improve environmental and safety performance.
• Executes key elements of AEC’s EHS program, ensuring compliance with external regulations and internal directives.
• Maintains professional relationships with HSE and key internal client groups.
• Reduces environmental or safety risks within the manufacturing environment.
• Monitors satellite accumulation and hazardous waste storage areas.
• Oversees the inspection and testing of EHS protective systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related field.
• Two (2) years industrial manufacturing experience, including but not limited to:
• Program development and management, e.g. ISO 14001, SPCC, VPP, IH sampling
• Permitting, e.g. air emissions, waste water, storm water
• Reporting, e.g. SQG hazardous waste, SARA reporting
• EHS Training, e.g. Coordination, development, and training
• Investigation, e.g. employee, property, and equipment incidents
• Inspection, e.g. Safety and environmental compliance (Gemba)
• Regulatory and EHS Management System proficiency
• OSHA, EPA, and DOT; and ISO 14001, ISO 45001, VPP or similar.
• Lean and Six Sigma continuous improvement methodologies.
• Candidates with current OSHA training preferred:
• Hazardous Waste and Emergency Response standard (HAZWOPER)
• Occupational Health and Safety Standards for General Industry
• Willingness to travel.
