About the role
The role of Process Safety Advisor is part of a significant growth phase at a global manufacturing company. The advisor will support ongoing operations and major capital projects, focusing on process safety, procedural development, training, and human factors.
Responsibilities
- Lead COMAH compliance programmes and maintain the Major Accident Prevention Policy
- Manage and improve the site’s COMAH Safety Management System (SMS)
- Oversee DSEAR compliance, including risk assessments and action tracking
- Act as the site SME for process safety, leading the development of procedures, emergency response plans, training programmes and human factors integration
- Lead Management of Change (MoC) activities, ensuring procedural and behavioral controls are clearly defined and embedded
- Support commissioning, validation and operational readiness for new processes
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of COMAH and DSEAR regulations within a UK manufacturing environment
- Strong experience in COMAH environments, with a focus on operational process safety, procedures, training and workforce engagement
- Experience working in a regulated, major hazard or pharmaceutical setting
- Hands-on experience with risk assessment methodologies such as HAZOP, LOPA or SIL
- Prioritised experience managing compliance programmes and risk registers
- Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and influencing
- Degree in Engineering, Science or similar, plus NEBOSH qualification
Qualifications
Applicants should have a strong background in engineering or a related field, with a degree and NEBOSH qualification preferred.
