Nature and Scope

The Site HSE Manager leads corporate and regulatory health, safety and environmental initiatives and processes at assigned location to reduce team member injury, ensure ongoing regulatory compliance and minimize Company exposure.

Job Objectives/Initiatives at Assigned Locations

  • Develop, implement, train, and maintain facility policies, programs and procedures to reduce team member injury, minimize company exposure and ensure compliance with corporate HSE management system and all applicable HSE regulations (OSHA; EPA; DOT; etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental permits, regulations, and reporting requirements for assigned facility
  • Ensure ongoing Compliance with all aspects of Hazardous Waste EPA Regulations (SQG)
  • Drive programs involving team member engagement and behavior-based safety processes (Consequence Thinking – Zero & Beyond)
  • Maintain certification to ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 Standards
  • Timely and accurate reporting of all Corporate HSE metrics and data requests
  • Proactively provide hands-on support in areas such as: Health, Safety and Environmental Procedure implementation (Corporate and site specific), behavioral safety processes, corporate safety mandates, and interpretation of applicable regulatory regulations
  • Conduct and assist with internal and external HSE audits and meet with regulatory agencies during facility inspections/audits as required
  • Act as a support resource in the development and review of facility specific HSE training needs analysis, operational reviews and new installation assessments
  • Partner with Facility leadership to participate in key HSE team meetings, Kaizen/Gemba events, and other key meetings where HSE representation is requested
  • Participate in other key HSE initiatives as assigned by NA HSE Department or Facility Leader

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental, engineering, or other related field
  • Direct experience and time in HSE role may be used as a substitute for Degree
  • 2 plus years of direct experience with OSHA compliance, behavior-based safety, root cause evaluation, incident management, standards and procedural development, auditing, and training
  • Demonstrated passion for safety and environmental excellence
  • Knowledge of worker’s compensation regulations
  • Experience with Environmental permit compliance and Large Quantity Hazardous Waste management
  • Knowledge of ISO Management Systems (ISO14001:2015 & 45001:2018) a plus
  • Experience with manufacturing site
  • Strong organizational & planning skills
  • Excellent analytical skills & problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with technology such as excel, PowerPoint, Word and other standard computer applications
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills (oral & written), able to interact with all levels in the organization

Qualifications/Experience

  • This is a site level role (not remote)
  • Ability to travel periodically for meetings and participation in other site audits
