About the role

The HSE Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing all safety programs and trainings for the organization. This role requires working knowledge of oil & gas safety requirements, road construction, and liner installations, ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, and MUTCD standards across all divisions.

Responsibilities

  • Attend customer-requested meetings and field/investigative reviews
  • Document and organize Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) efforts to determine safety efficiencies and deficiencies
  • Support production, completion, submission, and follow-up of ISNetworld, PEC, and Veriforce requests
  • Assist with onboarding new employees and completing contractor safety trainings, including OSHA and PEC Safeland trainings
  • Perform industrial hygiene monitoring as required for specific job sites
  • Maintain strong knowledge of safety, environmental, and D.O.T. regulations, rules, and procedures
  • Ensure company preparedness for internal and external safety audits
  • Perform investigative incident/accident reviews and prepare presentations in a timely manner
  • Prepare environmental compliance plans, permits, and reports; maintain safety documentation and statistics
  • Uphold drug testing expectations and requirements as specified in the company’s drug-free policy
  • Participate in weekly company meetings and present safety events to the leadership team
  • Collect and evaluate field data to provide recommendations for enhancing worker safety and compliance
  • Attend site visits to define safety requirements and determine site hazards
  • Prepare and revise company safety and health programs; assist field personnel in implementing these programs
  • Develop and conduct monthly safety awareness trainings
  • Engage in networking, industry activities, and complete required position trainings

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage responsibilities across multiple divisions
  • Proficient with MS Office products, including Word and Excel
  • Strong record and file organization skills
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to perform under pressure or in high-intensity situations
  • Associate’s degree or higher in environmental health and safety or a related field (preferred), or 3+ years of HSE supervisory experience in the oil & gas or transportation industries
  • Veriforce Instructor certification (preferred)
  • Must pass a standard criminal background check, work verification check, drug screen, and fit-for-duty physical
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
