Responsibilities

• Develops and assists with implementation of project HSE and regulatory requirements
• Identifies, evaluates, develops, and delivers project-specific HSE training
• Assists with the development of project training and district-specific training
• Reviews project training objectives and project trend action plans
• Identifies industry statistics and hazards and communicates any expected/anticipated changes to project teams
• Verifies that hazard identification tools are in place on the project(s) and evaluates areas for process improvement
• Oversees and conducts formal HSE inspections and audits
• Provides guidance and coaching to project teams and direct reports on audit requirements
• Evaluates and verifies that appropriate PPE is being used on project sites; develops specialized PPE training as required
• Develops and evaluates effectiveness of project emergency response plan and executes crisis communication plan for project(s)
• Verifies that equipment and tool inspections are being conducted and documented as per the program
• Participates in the investigation process as per the incident investigation matrix and determines when external resources are required
• Monitors work injury and ensures modified work is followed and properly documented

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in OH&S or a related discipline
• CRSP certification preferred (CDN)
• ASP certificate preferred (US)
• 9 years of experience in a related industry, with direct experience in HSE
• 4 years of experience in a supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of construction processes and terminology
• Expert knowledge of OH&S and environmental legislation related to projects/area
• Strong ability to coach and mentor others
• Strong communication and presentation skills on HSE topics to senior managers and projects

Pay

The estimated salary range for this role is $112,500 - $139,000 based on your experience and qualifications.
