We are seeking a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE/EHS) Engineer to join our team in Broomfield, Colorado. This role is considered safety-sensitive; all applicants will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug test.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will help develop, implement, and maintain our HSE programs with a strong focus on environmental compliance, sustainability, and data collection. This position requires leadership in driving a safety-first culture globally and collaborating across departments to enhance workplace safety and environmental stewardship.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of HSE procedures and programs for operations across global locations, ensuring alignment with international standards and local regulations.
  • Execute data collection and analysis processes focused on sustainability and ESG-related metrics.
  • Monitor and inform leadership of changes related to ESG and sustainability standards, governance models, and regulations internationally.
  • Support and help implement global sustainability initiatives, including energy efficiency programs, carbon footprint reduction, and resource conservation.
  • Oversee chemical and hazardous materials management worldwide, including inventory, approvals, transportation, and hazardous waste disposal, ensuring compliance with country-specific requirements.
  • Develop and deliver HSE training for engineers, scientists, technicians, and support staff across all global sites, adapting content to regional regulations and cultural practices.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable international and local HSE laws and proactively inform leadership of relevant regulatory changes.
  • Utilize HSE software to track and report HSE performance metrics globally using digital tools and dashboards, supporting data-driven decision-making.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments at all sites to manage and mitigate HSE risks effectively.
  • Lead and/or participate in incident investigations at global locations to support a learning culture and continuous improvement in HSE practices.
  • Serve as a champion for a healthy and safe work environment across all regions, fostering a consistent safety culture organization-wide.
  • Travel less than 10% to support HSE priorities and needs at sites.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
  • 2+ years of experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety in a technology, manufacturing, or industrial setting, or a Master’s Degree in an HSE/EHS-related program.
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, green card holder, or granted asylum/refugee status) due to contractual requirements.
  • Candidates must not be a national of the People’s Republic of China or Russia unless also a U.S. citizen, due to national security requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of direct HSE experience in a technology, operations, or industrial setting.
  • Certifications such as Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
  • Experience with laser, electromagnetic, and cryogenic hazards and their management.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in HSE software.

Pay

The pay range for this role is $75,000 – $90,000 annually. Actual compensation within this range may vary based on skills, educational background, professional experience, and unique qualifications.
