Position Summary
The HRIS Specialist (Exempt) is responsible for managing and maintaining the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and efficient functionality across all HR-related systems. This role plays a critical part in supporting strategic initiatives, optimizing workflows, and delivering analytical insights through effective system configuration and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as system administrator for the HRIS platform (e.g., UKG, Workday, ADP).
- Develop, maintain, and analyze HR reports, dashboards, and metrics to support data-driven decision-making.
- Troubleshoot system issues and provide advanced end-user support for HR staff and business leaders.
- Collaborate with HR, Payroll, IT, and other departments to support system integration and automation.
- Lead or assist in system upgrades, implementations, testing, and process improvements.
- Maintain data integrity and ensure system compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Manage role-based security, permissions, and audit logs for data access and system use.
- Document and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for HRIS processes and user support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience working with HRIS systems, ideally in a multi-location or complex organization.
- Demonstrated experience with system administration, data analysis, and process optimization.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Experience handling sensitive data and maintaining confidentiality.
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with UKG, Workday, ADP, or SAP SuccessFactors.
- Familiarity with data integration tools, APIs, or SmartConnect.
- Experience developing and automating workflows or digital forms.
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, or BI tools for report building and analysis.
