HRIS, Payroll and Compliance Manager (Laurie P)

Robert Half HR Solutions is partnering with a client in the Metro Atlanta area that is looking to add an HRIS, Payroll and Compliance Manager to their team. The HRIS, Payroll & Compliance Manager will lead HR technology, payroll, benefits administration, compliance, reporting, and process improvement initiatives. This role will serve as the internal subject matter expert for Workday HCM, Payroll, and Benefits, ensuring efficient operations, compliance, and scalability as the organization grows. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, with the ability to identify gaps, improve processes, and lead a small team. Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for Workday HCM, Payroll, and Benefits.Lead Workday implementations, enhancements, upgrades, and optimization efforts.Oversee accurate and compliant multi-state payroll processing.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including wage and hour regulations and FLSA requirements.Manage HR policies, procedures, controls, and process documentation.Oversee benefits administration, including health and welfare plans and 401(k) programs.Develop and maintain HR, payroll, and benefits reporting, dashboards, and workforce analytics.Identify process improvements, system enhancements, and automation opportunities.Lead, coach, and develop a small HR operations, payroll, or HRIS team.Partner with HR, Finance, and business leaders to support organizational goals and drive operational excellence. Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Information Systems, Accounting, or related field.7+ years of HRIS, Payroll, HR Operations, or Compliance experience.Hands-on experience leading or supporting Workday implementations across HCM, Payroll, and Benefits.Strong expertise with Workday HCM.Extensive experience managing multi-state payroll.Strong knowledge of wage and hour laws, FLSA, payroll compliance, benefits administration, and 401(k) programs.Experience developing HR policies, procedures, and operational processes.Proven experience managing and developing a team.Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, reporting, and data analysis.Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.Ability to think strategically, identify what is missing, and implement scalable solutions that improve efficiency, compliance, and employee experience.Preferred QualificationsWorkday certification or advanced Workday training.CPP, SHRM-CP/SCP, or PHR/SPHR certification.Experience in a high-growth or multi-state environment.
