About the role
The Business Analyst bridges the gap between business stakeholders and technology solutions, ensuring project outcomes align with business needs and objectives within the Human Resources department. This role involves analyzing, validating, and documenting business requirements, identifying inefficiencies, and recommending process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project sponsors, stakeholders, and end-users to elicit, understand, and document business requirements, processes, and workflows.
- Conduct meetings, workshops, and research to gather comprehensive information.
- Critically evaluate information from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, break down high-level information, and distinguish user requests from underlying needs.
- Create and maintain clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation, including business requirements documents, functional specifications, use cases, user stories, process flow diagrams, and report mock-ups.
- Ensure all documentation is kept up-to-date and version controlled.
- Serve as a liaison among business units, technology teams, and support teams.
- Effectively communicate insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and facilitate communication to ensure alignment.
- Analyze existing business processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements, often leveraging SuccessFactors, ServiceNow, or UKG.
- Recommend solutions to improve business processes and system functionalities.
- Work closely with the HR Project Manager to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Assist in developing test plans and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
- Provide support during project implementation and post-implementation phases.
- Analyze data to support business decisions and translate data into actionable insights for stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 3-5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a project-based environment.
- Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development.
- Experience working with project management software such as JIRA.
- Experience working on projects involving cloud solutions; familiarity with SuccessFactors, ServiceNow, or UKG is highly desirable.
