About the role

Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for an HR Technology Specialist in the New York office. The HR Technology Specialist provides day-to-day support for HR systems and employee data, with a primary focus on accurate transaction processing, data quality, user support, and reliable service delivery. The role also develops a strong understanding of how HR systems, data, and processes work together to support the employee lifecycle and broader HR operations. Working with HR, Payroll, Benefits, Talent, Technology, and other stakeholders, the Specialist processes employee data, responds to system and process questions, investigates issues, and supports data validation and reporting activities. The role also contributes to system testing, documentation, process improvements, and team-led technology initiatives. Success in the role requires more than accurate execution. The Specialist should be curious about how work flows across systems and teams, understand the downstream impact of data and process decisions, and look for opportunities to improve the employee and stakeholder experience. Larger projects, solution design, and cross-functional initiatives will be led by more senior team members.

Responsibilities

  • Process employee lifecycle transactions and maintain accurate employee, organizational, and position data in HR systems.
  • Review requests and documentation for completeness and appropriate approvals, following up or escalating as needed.

  • Research routine system, data, and process issues using available resources and escalate more complex matters appropriately.
  • Support routine imports, interfaces, queries, audits, and data validation activities; research discrepancies and coordinate corrections.
  • Maintain clear documentation, job aids, FAQs, request notes, and other knowledge resources.
  • Identify recurring data or process issues and share practical ideas for improving efficiency, accuracy, and service.
  • Participate in system enhancements, upgrades, implementations, workflow improvements, and other projects, including requirements documentation, testing, and change support.
  • Follow established data privacy, security, governance, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Build knowledge of HR processes, systems, integrations, workflows, and the relationship between HR data and technology.

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Strong customer service, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
