About the role
The HR Technology Advisor is a global functional position responsible for enhancing, configuring, maintaining, and expanding the functionality of Workday HCM, Compensation, Recruiting, Time Tracking, Absence, Payroll, Business Processes, and additional Workday modules. This role acts as the liaison between vendors, the business, and IT, ensuring successful delivery of complex systems implementations and ongoing system health.
Responsibilities
Project Execution
- Manage new project/enhancement requests from initiation through post-implementation support, including configuration.
- Collect and translate business process requirements into functional solution designs.
- Partner with the integration team to ensure proper integration with functional configuration.
- Configure Workday to meet functional needs.
- Prepare project deliverables, including project plans, process flows, functional requirements, and UAT test plans and test scripts.
- Lead cross-functional HR Technology projects through design and implementation.
Ongoing Support
- Preserve overall system health; engage with HR Operations and the business to understand operational challenges and aid in root cause problem resolution.
- Monitor the health of Workday modules and drive continuous process improvements, leveraging a clear understanding of local requirements (e.g., regulatory changes) and their system impact.
- Monitor the Workday community for reported bugs, fixes, and new enhancements relative to assigned modules.
- Document processes via job aids and knowledge-based articles.
- Ensure processes and procedures adhere to defined audit and internal controls.
- Act as an advisor and solutions architect to the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of implementation and support experience with Workday and/or other related HR systems.
- Expertise in implementing and configuring Workday Core HCM, Business Processes, and at least 2-3 of the following: Recruiting, Onboarding, Benefits, Advanced Compensation, Performance Management, or Talent Management on a global scale.
- Well-developed leadership and project management capabilities with demonstrated success completing multiple cross-functional, cross-business, and cross-cultural projects.
- Proven ability to effectively manage time and prioritize projects to meet established deadlines; ability to engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Excellent analytical skills with a strong working knowledge of problem-solving, root cause analysis, and solution implementation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work and/or lead effectively on virtual teams and training sessions.
- Ability to break down high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from underlying true needs.
- Track record of being the go-to person for designing functional and technical system solutions to solve business problems.
- Proven ability to deal with and resolve ambiguity and manage conflict.
- Self-starter with the ability to anticipate problems and take proactive, decisive action, considering system impact, business needs, and user population.
- Solid understanding of software lifecycle development (SDLC) methodologies.
- Familiarity with data privacy and other regulatory requirements.
