The Talent Acquisition Analyst plays a key tactical role in supporting Macy’s Talent Acquisition team by focusing on candidate sourcing and early-stage engagement activities. This position works closely with recruiters to identify, attract, and deliver qualified candidates across the enterprise. Responsibilities

  • Assist recruiters during intake to understand role requirements, success profiles, and sourcing strategies.
  • Proactively identify and engage passive candidates using LinkedIn, Applicant Tracking System (ATS), referrals, industry networks, and other sourcing tools.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for recurring and hard-to-fill roles across corporate, tech, supply chain, and retail leadership functions.
  • Represent Macy’s employer brand through thoughtful, high-quality first-touch outreach to targeted talent.
  • Coordinate and schedule external talent introductions to Talent Acquisition and leadership, ensuring a seamless handoff and positive candidate experience.
  • Capture candidate insights clearly and consistently in the ATS to support recruiter and hiring manager decision-making, and to maintain strong data integrity.
  • Support recruiters throughout the full lifecycle of searches by delivering qualified, interested candidates in a timely manner.
  • Share real-time market feedback, including candidate motivations, compensation expectations, and talent availability.
  • Stay current on industry trends, talent movement, and competitor hiring activity.
  • Identify opportunities to improve sourcing processes, tools, and candidate experience.
  • Support TA initiatives related to diversity sourcing, employer branding, and operational excellence.
  • Share best practices and market insights to elevate sourcing capability across the TA team.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Passive Candidate Engagement & Brand Ambassadorship: Ability to engage passive candidates through compelling, personalized outreach, representing the employment brand effectively, and building long-term, trust-based candidate relationships.
  • Recruiter Partnership & Intake Effectiveness: Strong ability to support recruiters and hiring leaders, understand role requirements, success profiles, and sourcing strategies, and translate them into targeted talent pipelines.
  • Pipeline Development: Ability to conduct ongoing talent market research and proactively build, maintain, and activate talent pipelines for recurring and hard-to-fill roles across multiple functions and levels.
  • Initial Candidate Qualification: Capability to conduct high-quality initial screening conversations to evaluate skills, experience, motivation, and alignment, and to articulate candidate fit clearly.
  • Organization & Priority Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple searches and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and urgency.
  • Communication: Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills to engage candidates and collaborate effectively with recruiters and other internal stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: Willingness to identify opportunities to improve sourcing processes, tools, and candidate experience, while continuing to build sourcing and market expertise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
  • Early-career professional with an interest in building sourcing and recruiting expertise, and a strong desire to grow within Talent Acquisition.
  • Curious and proactive, with a strong desire to develop expertise in talent markets and candidate engagement strategies.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative team player who communicates clearly and builds positive working relationships.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions such as communication, collaboration, and use of office and computer systems.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
