About the role

The Human Resources Specialist-Compliance (HR Specialist) plays a crucial role in supporting a culture of compliance, accountability, and operational excellence within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Supports a culture of compliance, accountability, and operational excellence throughout the organization.
  • Serves as a subject matter resource for employment-related laws, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
  • Conducts audits and reviews of HR processes, employee records, HRIS data, payroll, benefits administration, recruitment activities, onboarding practices, and other employment-related functions to identify risks, promote regulatory compliance, and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintains awareness of changes in employment legislation and regulatory requirements, evaluates their potential impact on Human Resources operations, and assists with implementing necessary policy, process, and procedural updates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required, or combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • At least 1 year of prior experience in Human Resources required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Proven ability to manage high volume workload and competing priorities appropriately.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and articulate recommendations.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism, including maintaining confidentiality.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to quickly learn HRIS and related systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, changing environment, including making decisions under pressure.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
