HR Specialist - Benefits and Wellness

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee and manage assigned projects and/or departments data, ensuring it meets predetermined contractual or policy requirements
  • Conduct data entry and data management for various department processes including benefits enrollments, classification changes, and COBRA enrollments
  • Aid in the development of training materials such as manuals, handbooks, presentations, workflows, and project plans
  • Manage and process claims, invoices, and resolve administrative problems with vendors
  • Collaborate with external and internal partners to ensure efficient operations
  • Perform regular audits of benefits data to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Process monthly and annual PPACA reports and assist with annual review and auditing for 1095-Cs
  • Handle benefits-related queries from internal and external stakeholders and resolve issues or discrepancies for medical, dental, vision, life, disability, H.S.A., FSA, 401(k), etc.
  • Oversee monthly premium payments and reconciliations for financial reporting
  • Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining confidentiality
  • Support the design, execution, and evaluation of the annual wellness program to meet the needs of employees and business goals
  • Create communication strategies to promote and encourage participation in wellness programs
  • Develop and maintain relationships with relevant vendors to support wellness program activities
  • Plan and execute annual Benefits Fairs
  • Analyze employee data and feedback to refine and improve wellness program

What You’ll Need

  • Working knowledge and understanding of PPACA, ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, IRS Section 125 and other applicable legislations
  • Experience using ADP WFN, SAP and time/attendance systems
  • Understanding of federal and state regulatory benefit compliance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to remain confidential and handle sensitive data
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with excellent follow-through skills
  • Proficient in Google Suite or related software

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS)
  • Certified Benefits Professional (CBP)
  • Certified Corporate Wellness Specialist (CCWS)
  • Experience working in the retail industry and a multi-state or large company (5,000 +)
  • Experience working with commuter benefits

Required Education, Certifications/Licenses, Related Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1 – 3 years of experience in a related field
  • In lieu of degree, 4+ years of experience in related field will meet the education and related experience requirements listed above

Physical Job Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • 25% travel required
