About the Role
We are seeking an experienced HR Specialist to support our manufacturing operations in Eau Claire, WI. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and partnering with employees and leadership across multiple HR functions.
The HR Specialist will support recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, HR systems, and associate engagement while ensuring adherence to company policies and employment regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support full-cycle recruitment for exempt, non-exempt, and intern positions (approximately 50% of the role)
- Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation programs
- Maintain HRIS records and prepare HR reports
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions regarding payroll, benefits, compensation, employment verification, and HR policies
- Support benefits administration, including open enrollment and employee communications
- Assist with administration and tracking of leave programs (FMLA, STD, LTD, Personal Leave)
- Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, wellness programs, and company events
- Assist with employee relations, counseling, and exit interviews
- Support implementation and communication of HR policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws
- Participate in HR meetings, projects, and other administrative activities
- Perform additional HR duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of Human Resources experience
- Knowledge of employment laws including: FLSA, EEOC, ADA, FMLA
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and high ethical standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent computer skills
- 2+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing and/or supply chain environment
- Experience supporting a unionized workforce
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent) Preferred
- Experience with SAP SuccessFactors
- Microsoft Copilot experience
- Experience with HRIS systems and reporting
Schedule
Monday-Friday (40 hours/week). Start time between 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM; end time between 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM (based on business needs).
