About the role
The HR Recruiter is responsible for supporting MHA's recruitment efforts by sourcing, screening, and coordinating qualified candidates for open positions across the organization. This role works under the direction of the Recruitment Manager to identify top talent, promote MHA's mission, and help build compassionate, mission-driven teams that support the individuals we serve.
Responsibilities
- Review applications within the ATS, evaluate qualifications, advance qualified applicants, and disposition candidates who do not meet hiring criteria.
- Conduct candidate outreach, screenings, and phone interviews while providing information about positions, organizational culture, and benefits.
- Coordinate candidate submissions, interview scheduling, and hiring activities while maintaining communication with candidates and hiring managers.
- Participate in interviews and selection discussions, providing feedback and recommendations to hiring managers and the Recruitment Manager.
- Create, post, and maintain job advertisements, ensuring postings remain accurate and up to date.
- Coordinate and participate in hiring events, job fairs, community outreach activities, and other recruitment initiatives.
- Extend employment offers and coordinate onboarding activities, including HRIS/payroll onboarding, verification of pre-employment requirements, and onboarding appointments.
- Maintain recruitment records, candidate activity, and hiring data within the ATS and other applicable systems.
- Manage multiple open positions, competing priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate with the Recruitment Manager and HR team on recruitment strategies, process improvements, and organizational initiatives.
- Participate in HR meetings and contribute to recruitment-related discussions, projects, and workforce development efforts.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- 2+ years of recruitment, talent acquisition, or related experience required; nonprofit or human services experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn ATS, HRIS, and other recruitment systems.
- Comfortable discussing compensation, benefits, and employment opportunities with candidates.
- Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills; Spanish fluency preferred.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for recruitment-related events.
- Ability to travel locally for recruitment-related events and activities.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Mon - Fri 9am - 5pm
Pay
$23 - $25 per hour
