About the role
The HR & Payroll Administrator supports a broad range of Human Resources functions, including employee relations, benefits administration, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, performance management, and HR recordkeeping. This position serves as a key resource for employees and management, ensuring accurate payroll processing and supporting an exceptional employee experience.
Responsibilities
- Support recruitment efforts, including posting positions, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and coordinating hiring activities.
- Conduct employee onboarding and orientation programs.
- Maintain electronic employee personnel files and HR information systems (HRIS).
- Administer employee benefits programs and assist employees with benefit-related inquiries.
- Support performance management processes, employee engagement initiatives, and talent development programs.
- Investigate and assist in resolving employee relations matters.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, and HR best practices.
- Aid in leave administration, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and other leave programs.
- Generate HR metrics and reports to support organizational decision-making.
- Participate in policy development and implementation.
- Aid in training and development activities.
- Process biweekly payroll accurately and on schedule.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
- Maintain payroll records, employee earnings, deductions, garnishments, and tax withholdings.
- Review and audit timesheets, leave balances, overtime, and payroll reports.
- Cook up payroll-related changes, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and compensation adjustments.
- Reconcile payroll data and prepare payroll-related reports for leadership and finance.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Aid in year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and payroll audits.
- Collaborate with Finance to ensure accurate payroll accounting and reporting.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and organizational information.
- Ensure compliance with all employment regulations and payroll requirements.
- Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
- Maintain accurate HR and payroll records according to retention requirements.
- Assist with administering the annual staff satisfaction survey.
- Assist with administering the bi-annual Professional Quality of Life (ProQol) survey.
- Participate in monthly all-staff meetings.
- Aid in scheduling the annual on-site staff immunization clinic.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field (years of experience or HR certification(s) may be considered in place of a bachelor’s degree).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Human Resource Generalist or comparable position.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience administering Payroll- ADP experience preferred but not required.
