About the role
Joining Piper, a leading provider of advanced rail positioning and safety systems for the transit industry, as a full-time HR Manager in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR management, with experience in benefits administration, performance management, and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the daily administration of HR services including onboarding, orientation, promotions, and full-time contract administration.
- Administer health benefits to all eligible full-time employees.
- Manage broker resources, benefits renewal, and assist employees with questions about their medical, dental, and vision plans.
- Serve as the primary contact for Workers' Compensation claims and act as the safety manager for the company's IIPP.
- Process company payroll semi-monthly, develop, review, and analyze all reports, and ensure accuracy in the payroll system.
- Coordinate new hire onboarding and employee offboarding through the company payroll system.
- Prepare and configure new-hire equipment, including computer setup, software installation, and creation of user credentials and system access.
- Manage monthly benefits billing reconciliation, verify accurate entries into the payroll system, confirm employee and employer contribution amounts, and ensure all premiums are recorded correctly.
- Partner with the CEO to shape and maintain a compensation strategy aligned with organizational goals and accurately reflect employee roles and responsibilities.
- Develop and refine performance management strategies and processes, overseeing the annual performance review cycle.
- Maintain and update employees' job descriptions, reviewing and revising as needed.
- Create innovative HR programs, services, and processes to continuously improve the department and company.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field
- Five years (5) of progressive HR experience, preferably in management
- SHRM-CP or other Human Resource Certification preferred
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proficiency in managing data with HRIS and Payroll Systems and other software
- Experience with ADP (WFN)
- Strong oral and written communication skills

$110,000.00 - $116,000.00 per year, based on experience
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm
