We are looking for an HR Manager to lead all aspects of the employee lifecycle in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This highly visible role partners closely with leaders to influence business outcomes, support organizational change, foster a strong workplace culture, and ensure a positive employee experience. Responsibilities include recruiting, employee relations, leadership coaching, performance management, compliance, compensation, benefits, and engagement programs.

Responsibilities

  • Builds effective working relationships with organizational leaders and balances facility/group needs with HR guidelines when making decisions.
  • Provides coaching to leaders and individual contributors at the Plant Manager level and below to promote individual success.
  • Drives change management among leaders to ensure strategic changes are rolled out in an engaging, well-communicated, and reinforced way.
  • Assesses and monitors associate engagement on a proactive, ongoing basis and implements engagement strategies to address disengagement issues.
  • Completes reports and information requests accurately and timely.
  • Executes core annual programs, such as performance objectives and goal-setting, performance evaluations, compensation planning, talent assessment, succession planning, wellness, annual enrollment, and OSHA logs.
  • Manages the talent acquisition process to attract and hire qualified candidates.
  • Addresses employee grievances, mediates conflicts, and fosters a positive work environment.
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive programs to attract and retain top talent.
  • Conducts surveys and analyzes compensation data.
  • Administers employee leaves of absence, reasonable accommodation requests, and investigates allegations of wrongdoing.
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Ensures HR functions (recordkeeping, talent development, promotions, terminations) comply with company procedures and legal requirements.
  • Oversees performance appraisal systems, provides feedback, and develops performance improvement plans.
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives for internal employee development.
  • Develops, implements, and updates HR policies and procedures, ensuring consistent application across the organization.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; reviews policies and practices to ensure compliance.
  • Leads state employment-related inquiries from the Department of Labor.
  • Leads employee engagement activities and community events for the facility.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Leads the HR function for a facility, providing functional HR expertise, planning, and executing key projects.
  • Directly manages facility HR Partners, driving performance in the local HR team, as applicable.
  • Executes HR programs within the facility and ensures alignment with HR processes and programs.
  • Collaborates with HR colleagues to share best practices and leverage successes across the company.
  • Supports peer networks across the company and leverages them for learning when encountering new challenges.
  • Manages personal development following changes to company, business, and/or HR strategy.
  • Participates in the development of HR colleagues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of human resource management experience preferred.
  • SPHR, PHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification highly desired.

  • Proficiency with or ability to quickly learn HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Excellent understanding and implementation of federal, state/province, and local employment laws.
  • Knowledge of talent acquisition techniques, including recruitment, interviewing skills, and selection.
  • Understanding of compensation and benefit policies and programs, and employee relations practices.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move around the manufacturing facility, including standing, walking, and climbing stairs.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
  • Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.

Schedule

This role requires onsite presence Monday through Friday.
